Sputum Decontamination
Text Box: Begin with 2ml* of sputum sample Flowchart: Alternate Process: Decant supernatant and retain pellet Flowchart: Alternate Process: Centrifuge at 3000xg for 15 min Flowchart: Alternate Process: Fill tube to 14ml with PBS. Cap tube and mix by inversion. Flowchart: Alternate Process: Vortex tube for 20 sec. and let stand for 15min. Flowchart: Alternate Process: Add an equal amount of NaOH-NALC

*   If 2ml is not available, add PBS up to 2ml; if more than 2ml is available, use only 2ml
